Call for Proposals – Professional Development
The UMaine Hutchinson Center is actively seeking proposals for new professional development programs for 2022 and beyond. We are looking for proposals that meet the needs of Maine’s workforce, as defined by the Governor’s Economic Recovery Committee and the Maine Economic Development Strategy, in addition to the needs shared by our community via our recent survey.
We are seeking proposals for professional development programs in the following areas:
- Customer Service
- Early Childhood Education/Childcare
- Human Resources
- Trauma-informed Management/Workplaces
- Recruiting, Cultivating & Sustaining a Diverse Workplace
- Industry-specific trainings
- Real Estate
- Project Management
Though we are seeking proposals addressing the areas listed above we are happy to consider other topics.
Whether offered online or in-person, our programs tend to be instructor-led, interactive and synchronous (not pre-recorded or self-paced).
Priority for 2022 programs will be given to proposals received before December 10, 2021.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 207.338.8002.
Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ and veterans are strongly encouraged to submit proposals. Instructors do not need to be residents of Maine nor based in Maine in order to be considered.
What you can expect from us if your proposal is accepted:
Our staff will:
- market and do our best to fill your program
- handle all logistics
- take care of communication with participants before, during and after programs
- offer tech support
- provide University of Maine Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and the opportunity for UMS Micro-Credentials or badges (where appropriate)
- ensure that you are paid fairly and on time
Essentially, we take care of marketing, registration, and quality customer service so you can focus solely on program delivery.
Please help us spread the word about this opportunity. Thank you!
