Waldo Reads Together 2022
The Hutchinson Center is pleased to participate in Waldo Reads Together, a community-wide book discussion.
This year’s book selection is The Devil’s Highway by Luis Alberto Urrea. To register or learn more, visit Literacy Volunteers of Waldo County’s website.
“One Book, One Community,” created by the American Library Association, is a book discussion program that offers a community-wide read of one designated book over the same period of time with discussions and related activities about the book’s themes. Waldo Reads Together is our local version of this program, offered last year for the first time through the initiative of Aging Well in Waldo County and partner organizations to help alleviate some social isolation and connect community members. This year’s initiative is led by Literacy Volunteers of Waldo County, in partnership with Belfast Free Library, the Hutchinson Center and a committee of community members.
Thanks to a grant from Senior College, those 55 and older are eligible for a free book. Books are available for pick up from the Hutchinson Center at 80 Belmont Ave. (Route 3) in Belfast, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
