Not sure what to do when buying a home? What is all that financial jargon your banker is throwing at you? Penquis is a certified HomeBuyer Education provider for HUD and Maine State Housing Authority. Your certificate of completion for this HomeBuyer Education class allows you to access special loan programs through MSHA, FHA, and VA and is good for two years.

Learn more and register here.

Penquis offers an online, interactive 8-hour homebuyer education class taught by industry professionals (lenders, home inspectors, real estate agents) in an educational, non-sales oriented environment. Homebuyer education classes provide an opportunity to learn about the home buying process in a neutral environment. A first-time homebuyer education class is required for some mortgages, such as Maine Housing, and may give qualified buyers access to funding towards down payment and closing costs.

Buyers who have taken home buying classes are more confident when asking questions and making decisions about homeownership and loan products.

The Hutchinson Center is supporting Penquis HomeBuyer Education courses by providing internet access to people in Waldo or Knox counties who want to participate in this course but need access to a computer or internet. After registering to participate in the event on the MainStream/Penquis CAP website, please fill out the form below to access a computer or internet at the Hutchinson Center.
