Welcome!

Greetings, and welcome to the University of Maine Hutchinson Center located in the beautiful and diverse community of Belfast.

Our mission is to broaden access to University of Maine academic and non-degree programs and services, lifelong learning opportunities, and professional and career development experiences using innovative approaches that increase synergy among University of Maine System entities, University of Maine departments and divisions, and that engage a wider Maine community.

Along with being an outreach Center of the University of Maine, which offers over 90 undergraduate majors, 70 masters programs and 30 doctoral degrees, we offer exceptional conference and event planning services, comprehensive academic advising and student support services, and a vibrant community outreach program to local K-12 schools throughout Waldo and Knox counties.  We offer a broad spectrum of alternative class delivery formats such as live, videoconference, online, and ITV. We strive to provide educational access and equality of opportunity to the people of Maine.

We are here to support your educational goals! Whether you were not able to finish the degree that you started ten years ago or haven’t taken your first college class, we have programs and scholarships to meet your individual needs and situation. You deserve a UMaine Degree and we are here to support you every step along the way.  We are dedicated to creating new knowledge, challenging students, and serving the state by working with individuals, businesses, cultural centers and communities.

I look forward to hearing from you and learning how we can best support your goals!
